In ITI locality in Aizawl at least 150 graveyards were destroyed due to a landslide. The situation remains dire, with at least 30 houses near the Tlawng River in Sairang relocated due to flooding. The full extent of the disaster is still unclear, with many deaths and the number of houses washed away yet to be fully ascertained. As a precautionary measure, all schools and government offices have been closed. Chief Minister of Mizoram, Lalduhoma, has announced that those affected by Cyclone Remal will receive relief assistance amounting to Rs 15 crore. Additionally, relatives of the deceased will receive an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakhs.
